Easily Make Syntax Trees

phpSyntaxTree [http://ironcreek.net/phpsyntaxtree/] provides a fairly pain-free way to make syntax trees. It’s website-based, so you don’t download anything. It can feel a slightly tedious for more complex trees, but a little patience and double-checking of your brackets pays off nicely. I suggest using their starter sentence as a template.

  1. There’s also TreeForm. This one is a download, and it’s a little easier to use in complex cases, because it has a graphical interface. You just drag and drop subtrees, and the program connects them and spaces them out for you.
